Old Ordinance Room Museum

We had a good showing of young gardeners for this event.  The museum was open and Danny Gonzalez gave guided tours of the exhibit.  We provided refreshments for the event that was enjoyed by our gardeners.  The collage below highlights the event.

Doors opened at 5pm. Refreshments and hot food were available. Music was performed by Michael Lacy and his New Orleans Swing Band as everyone danced the night away!



World War II Weekend
Friday-Sunday, April 24-26
Jefferson Barracks County Park

We learned about the uniforms, weapons, and equipment used by the troops of World War II. The camp was open for tours on Friday from 1-3 pm and battle reenactments took place on Saturday and Sunday.

At our last FJB General Membership Meeting, Dennis Mertz discussed the FJB Board of Directors nominations for a 3 year Term of Office (April 2015 - April 2018):

Also, the Election of Officers for a 1 year Term of Office (April 2015 - April 2016):
President - John Chapman
Vice President - Dennis B. Mertz
Secretary - Patty Crocker
Treasurer- Wayne Winters


All nominations were approved by a unanimous voice vote at this meeting!

 

Also, Pat Galanos retired as the FJB President in order to dedicate more time to the FJB Gift Shop.  Above, newly appointed FJB President, John Chapman thanked Pat Galanos for her faithful service while serving as FJB President from January 2012 - April 2015.

 

Jefferson Barracks Tuesday Master Gardeners

Each Tuesday a group of volunteer gardeners meet to work on the gardens at the park.  Things are starting to bloom at the park. The collage below highlights their work and the changing colors at the park.


Egg Hunt 2015

The 2015 Egg Hunt was held at Jefferson Barracks on March 27th & 28th.  The event was big success as both nights were sold out!  Below is a collage of pictures that highlights the event.

Adult Egg Hunt - Egg Preparation Session

An egg preparation session was held at the Visitors Center.  Members of the Friends and students from local high schools volunteered to number the eggs.  All 17,000 eggs were numbered and stored away.  Below are some pictures of everyone hard at work.
